No Gi
(pronounced no ghee) Jiu Jitsu derives from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), which was brought to Brazil in the early 20th century from the Japanese martial art of Kodokan Judo, which was called Jiu Jitsu before a name change to Judo. No Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or No Gi BJJ is a combat sport, martial art, and efficient, effective self-defense system that focuses on ground fighting. The objective is to neutralize and control a much larger opponent with leverage and technique, rather than strength with being training clothes (gi) specific.

In addition to the incredibly healthy practice of self-defense, and the mental exercise, the body workout BJJ gives you is unreal.  You will experience increased stamina and improved body tone.  It is truly a complete self-defense system and fitness program ‘rolled’ into one.

No Gi BJJ began in America with the likes of Cesar Gracie, Chris Brennan, and Eddie Bravo.
